What is a Speed Test?
A speed test measures your internet connection's performance by calculating how fast data travels between your device and a test server. Our speed test checks three key metrics: download speed (how quickly you receive data), upload speed (how fast you send data), and ping/latency (the response time of your connection). Whether you use Xfinity, Spectrum, AT&T, Verizon, or any other ISP, this tool provides accurate measurements to verify you're getting the internet speeds you pay for.

Speed Test FAQ
How accurate is this speed test?
Our speed test provides professional-grade accuracy comparable to Speedtest by Ookla and Google Speed Test. We use single-connection testing with statistical analysis to give you the most accurate representation of your actual internet speed.
What is a good internet speed?
For most US households: 25-100 Mbps download is good for streaming and browsing, 100-500 Mbps is great for multiple users and gaming, and 500+ Mbps is excellent for heavy usage. Upload speed of 10+ Mbps is recommended for video calls, and ping under 50ms is ideal for gaming.
Why is my speed test result different from my ISP plan?
Several factors can affect your speed: WiFi interference, distance from router, network congestion, device limitations, and ISP throttling. For the most accurate results, test with an ethernet cable, close other applications, and test at different times of day.
How often should I run a speed test?
Run a speed test whenever you experience slow internet, after changing your internet plan, when setting up new equipment, or monthly to monitor your ISP performance. Testing at different times helps identify peak congestion periods.
Does this speed test work on mobile devices?
Yes! Our speed test works on all devices including iPhone, Android, tablets, laptops, and desktop computers. Simply open the page in your browser and click Start - no app download required.
How does this compare to Ookla Speedtest or Fast.com?
Our speed test uses similar technology to Ookla Speedtest and Netflix's Fast.com. We measure download speed, upload speed, ping, and jitter using industry-standard methods. The main advantage is no app installation required - it works directly in your browser.
Understanding Your Speed Test Results
Download Speed
Measured in Mbps (Megabits per second). This determines how fast you can stream Netflix, download files, and load websites. For 4K streaming, you need at least 25 Mbps.
Upload Speed
Important for video calls (Zoom, Teams), uploading to cloud storage, and live streaming. Most ISPs offer asymmetric speeds with lower upload than download.
Ping & Latency
Measured in milliseconds (ms). Critical for online gaming and real-time applications. Under 20ms is excellent, 20-50ms is good, 50-100ms is acceptable for most uses.
